The Master of Music Education Degree is for the practicing music educator who wants to expand their knowledge and professional expertise. The degree consists of 30-credit program, with short, focused summer session on campus and online courses offered year round. Critical to the program is a practicum experience where instructors work with students in their current position.

MUED 6210 - Curriculum Organization in Music Education 3 credits
MUED 6220 - Music Teaching and Learning 3 credits
EDUC 6030 - 21st Century Research & Data 3 credits
MUSC 6110 - Music Theory Pedagogy 2 credits
MUSC 6120 - Graduate Seminar in Music History 2 credits
MUED 6450 - Practicum I 1 credits
MUED 6460 - Practicum II 1 credits
MUED 6250 - Conducting I 1 credits
MUED 6260 - Conducting II 1 credits
MUSC 6970 - Capstone Project 1-3 credits (3 credits required)

Elective Courses (10 Credits)

MUED 6900 - Special Topics in Music Education 1 to 3 credits
MUED 6910 - Directed Readings in Music Education 1 to 3 credits
MUED 6920 - Special Projects in Music Education 1 to 3 credits
MUSC 6230 - Music Literature 3 credits
With approval, students may complete additional electives from graduate courses in Music Technology, Arts Administration, or Education.
